HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours/week
The hiring range for this position ranges from $76,503.69 to $90,848.14, with the opportunity to grow within the broader salary range of $76,503.69 to $95,629.62 as you advance in your role.

Role
Under the direction of Manager, Programs and Services, the Health & Safety Program Consultant is responsible for seeing programs from roll out through to completion ensuring annual goals and objectives associated with the Provincial Programs are accomplished. The core accountability is acting as a liaison between WSIB/MLITSD and WSPS. The successful incumbent will ensure high quality virtual services are provided to client program participants, on time and within budget, resulting in high client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Note: Percentages refer to approximate % of time spent on each area, over the course of a given year.
Build, Maintain and Support Health & Safety Provincial Program (65%)
Responsible for coaching and mentoring clients through the completion of the WSIB’s Health and Safety Excellence program and other provincial programs
Accountable for the delivery of solutions to clients maintaining quality standards, project timelines and budget
Communicates the identified opportunities to AM/SAM for follow-up with the client
Assess client needs and work diplomatically within political framework of unionized and non -unionized workplaces and liaise with various stakeholders (e.g. MLITSD, senior management, supervisors, workers, contractors) to assist member in complying with legislations, standards and best practices
Proactively responds to client information requests promptly and accurately, acting as a resource or gateway for information and service
Respond to escalated questions and issues from internal stakeholders and program members
In collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; develop, implement and oversee the delivery of products and the program to support the Provincial programs. Monitor, evaluate and adjust as required. Perform program administrative tasks.
Create resources, tools and presentation material for participant meetings to assist firms with successfully meeting the program requirements
Monitor and evaluate to ensure the program content is effectively and consistently being delivered
Identifies and flags potential program risks and proactively identifies solutions to mitigate risks
Informs and enlists support from their Manager when appropriate
Maintains records of all activities on the Client Relationship Management (CRM) system on a regular basis and submits reports as required. Utilizes internal processes and tools regularly including: CRM, Microsoft outlook calendar, Business Portal, etc.
Responds to internal and external inquiries to meet organizational service standards
Provides input on continuous improvement of WSPS’ services
Applies time and priority management techniques to effectively address administrative demands (reports, e-mail, weekly time sheets, monthly expenses, organizational initiatives)
Maintains home office files, materials, equipment, and office environment.
Ensures the proper and secure storage of information and documentation.
Keeps abreast of H&S knowledge and best practices related to the sectors and industries we serve.
Communicates potential new opportunities including new products and services to members, as well as keeping the assigned Account Manager informed.
Provides training and educational sessions to increase workplace health and safety awareness, using established WSPS training standards and materials.
Share responsibility for territory revenue by identifying opportunities for revenue targets (i.e., by attracting and retaining new Excellence program members etc.)
Relationship Building (30%)
Collaborate with the assigned WSIB consultant, Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, Skills and Development (MLITSD), and other system partners, Manager OHS Management Systems, WSPS Consulting Managers and Consultants, support staff and Provincial program members to ensure the delivery of a high-quality program.
Nurtures, develops and maintains relationships with assigned members while delivering services.
Promotes WSPS and effectively serves as a “brand” ambassador in the market.
Follows up regularly with members to ensure ongoing satisfaction.
Internally acts a Subject Matter Expert (SME) as assigned to projects or teams and provides current health & safety expertise and advice on all WSPS solution offerings including products, services and programs, as assigned.
Marketing Initiatives (5%)
Assist with the development and execution of marketing plans and tactics to increase provincial program awareness and participation.
Contributes to a healthy and safe work environment (at all times)
Complies with all Health and Safety policies, procedures and company rules established in WSPS Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS).
Contributes to promoting a healthy, safe, and respectful culture
Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations
Skills and Experience
Minimum:
Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline from a Community College and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-5 years of experience working with governmental programs,
3+ years of experience consulting and facilitating training sessions in various settings (e.g., industrial, service and farming sectors)Knowledge and application of Health and Safety, including legislation and technical standards
Knowledge and application of conducting audits and assessments
Knowledge of WSIB Incentive Program processes and WSPS consulting and training programs
Strong relationship building skills and business acumen
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff at all organizational levels
Facilitation/Instruction skills in various settings and levels of employees/management
Ability to organize and prioritize a varied workload, including managing several projects simultaneously
Ability to negotiate, foster cooperation, and build consensus in order to influence decision making
Excellent time management skills with the ability to adapt to changing project priorities, scope and timelines
Proven interpersonal and relationship management skills to effectively interact, build and nurture working relationships with colleagues and system partners
Resourceful with the ability to identify and resolve challenges both autonomously and collaboratively
Excellent oral and written communications skills in English
Experience in virtual training using Microsoft Team Platform
Computer skills
Preferred:
Experience working in the agriculture sector
CRSP or working towards designation is considered an asset
Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Kinesiology, Human Kinetics or a Certificate/Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety with equivalent experience
5+ years of related sector experience is considered an asset
Disability management knowledge and/or experience
Knowledge of management systems

Candidates are required to reside in the province of Ontario (or National Capital Region), maintain a private and safe workspace, and have a high-quality internet connection.
To support success in building connections, inclusion and collaboration, a minimum level of in person presence for the purposes of meetings is required for all team members on a monthly basis.
All client-facing and external stakeholder (such as the Ministry) meetings will be held in the format preferred by the client or stakeholder, whether in person or virtual.
An all-employee meeting (Staff Days or equivalent) will be organized annually. All employees are required to attend the annual meeting in person.
SLT and others involved in Board of Director meetings and/or committee work may be required to attend meetings in person from time to time, as needed.
